Automatic TLS certificates
Automatic TLS certificates
I'd love to be able to have Google automatically protect my domains with HTTPS using Cloud Load Balancing instead of having to manage a multitude of certificates on my own (or write some external process/cronjob to update certificates every so often).
Something like Let's Encrypt integration or Google issuing off of one of its intermediates would be a fantastic addition to the platform and would enable all to easily offer HTTPS instead of non-secure HTTP for their custom hostnames/domains
213 votesManaged SSL certificates are now supported in GAE.1 We hope to add them for GCLB endpoints at a future date.

Add a cron-like service for easy time-based management of GCP resources
Build a "Cloud Cron" service that seamlessly integrates with all GCP products and allows customers to automate time-based resource management and actions.

Prepay for use on Google Cloud
One of the fears everyone has is that we'll start learning on GCP and we'll get a bill for $700,000 at home when a bad line of code spawns up 2million nodes on earth and mars.
I'd like to buy $500 increments in Google Cloud Credits. Then when i hit that limit, you cut me off. This allows to learn safely.
156 votesInteresting idea… we’ll share it with the billing team.

Allow immediate deletion of projects
Currently, if you have a workflow that involves rapidly creating and destroying projects, you run into the project creation quota pretty quickly. This appears to be linked to the fact that projects have a non-negotiable 30 day grace period. If so, it would be great if one could just opt out of the latter, and kill a project dead immediately.
Use cases:
- Choosing to break your setup down into very many small projects for organisational purposes.
- Working on third-party tooling. For example, I have been contributing to the GCP provider for terraform, but have found it impossible to run acceptance…
117 votesThanks for your feedback. We’re considering several possible ways to improve this situation for future releases.

Cheaper cloud spanner starting price
It would be great if Cloud Spanner had a cheaper starting price. I listened to Deepti Srivastava on https://www.gcppodcast.com/post/episode-62-cloud-spanner-with-deepti-srivastava/ talk about customer feedback on pricing and how they felt that Cloud Spanner provided incredible value.
I 100% agree that it provides incredible value, and the performance that you can get from a single node is great and comparable to a MySQL VM that costs the same amount. However my needs are much more modest than 10,000 queries per second or 2,000 writes per second. I'd be quite happy with a node that provided 1/10th of the performance at even 1/4…
103 votesThanks, we’ve heard this feedback from a number of different directions, and the team is aware of the desire to see something like this. We’ll update this request in the future if there are new offerings to announce.

Make services currently belong to "App Engine" available for the total platform (Compute / Container)
Some services like Search, Email, Memcached, SMS, etc. does not make sense that only can be used from GAE
92 votesThanks, this is a great idea!

Add a Graph Database
Add a Graph Database - Tinkerpop and W3C/SPARQL compliant as an alternative to: Stardog, Janusgraph, Neptune. Must support sharding and use of cloud storage for backups.

Worldwide
Worldwide SMS Messaging.
Just landed in AWS. See here: https://mobile.awsblog.com/post/TxSP0HUNM8FQ1Y/Introducing-Worldwide-SMS-Messaging
Please do!
57 votesThanks for the suggestion, we’ll consider this in our planning.

Add a parameter/metadata store to KMS
To securely store configuration using GCP tools, one needs to
- Store them in a file
- Encrypt that with KMS
- Store that file in GCS
- At runtime download that file
- Decrypt it
It would be great if there was a way to store small secrets directly in KMS so that we don't need to go through the intermediate step of GCS ourselves.
53 votesThanks, we’ll look into this!

storage sort by date
The Storage platform, at least through a browser, doesn't support sorting by columns. I'd love to be able to click on a column header like "Last modified" and sort the output by that column.

Add bucket snapshots to Google Cloud Storage
Cloud Storage buckets already support object versioning. Similar to snapshots of persistent disks, an ability to save a snapshot of a bucket can be added to Cloud Storage.
51 votesThanks for the suggestion.

Make Google Groups Available for GKE RBAC
Managing permissions on user-level is a mess. As users and their group relations are already available in GCP it would be natural to have this available for RBAC within GKE.

Accept Prepaid Cards for Verified Accounts (e.g. with a valid SEPA agreement)
I can not upvote a previous request for this so I am reposting:
Please consider allowing "quasi-verfied" account holders to add prepaid cards as an additional mode of payment.
In other words – if you already have the bank account details; have so-to-say, verified the account holder's identity, or at the very least their name and bank account – how on earth is accepting a prepaid card any more unsafe than accepting a regular card? Presumably this conditional acceptance of prepaid cards just isn't implemented in your checkout system. Please implement it. Thank you.

Rollout cloud functions to more regions
Cloud functions are currently only available for central US. Please rollout support ASAP for other regions around the world, e.g. Europe
38 votesSupport for other regions will likely follow at a future date as the product achieves General Availability (or sometime thereafter). We don’t have any timeline to report at this moment.

Support Accept-Language in Cloud CDN caching
Cloud CDN currently does not support Accept-Language nor Vary: Accept-Language for caching. This kills localization for clients where content may actually be translated depending on the language.
Amazon's CDN supports caching on Accept-Language....pretty big for international use cases.
34 votesThanks, I have passed on this feature request to the CDN team.

Renaming
Just want to start off by saying this, This should not be top priority but still be added
We should have an option to rename things like instances or storage bucket or ips or anything in general.
32 votesThanks, there are several specific rename feature requests within the product forums. While we’ll certainly keep the feedback in mind generally, each different product may have different considerations. For example, in GCS a rename would really be a complete copy, which is a fairly expensive operation (and could be very expensive if you src data is in Coldline). This is core to how GCS works. In other products, it might be easier. Feel free to browse the feedback forums here and add your votes to specific rename operations you feel would be most helpful. Thanks!

Show subtotals by project in monthly invoices
Monthly invoices (sent by email) list a project for each line. It would be even nicer if they listed subtotals for each project.
27 votesAs mentioned, exporting the billing data is one way you can obtain whatever sorts/filters you want, but we’re considering your suggestion. Thx!

Cloud Shell support for font and font size
Please add terminal font resizing to Google Cloud Shell. For those with poor eyesight, and/or on high definition displays, the current 13px font size is too small. On a Mac, I'm also used to Menlo which I find has improved legibility.
27 votesThank you for the suggestion, and sorry to hear about the difficulty with the font. We’ll pass this along to the owners.

Deleting VM and SQL instances - 2FA, time limited soft delete
Appearantly it is really easy to delete for example a VM or database instance. There is no password asked, no big red warning, no 2FA, nothing. I read loads of users that accidentally deleted there VM or SQL instance.
And, we cannot restore anything after we done it. There is no soft-delete. For example, soft-delete it for like 2 hours, and only then permanently delete. It is now unrecoverable, with just a click of the button.
Also, since backups are stored on the instance itself in Cloud SQL, you cannot restore the instance or databases unless you have manually made…
