You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  2. Provide ability to change keyboard layout for cloud shell.

Cloud shell is a great tool, however users are tied to whatever keyboard they are using. It's really important to provide a keyboard layout changing ability. Some european keyboard layouts make use of "Alt-Gr" button combinations to type $, {, } and even | characters. It's very painful to having to copy paste these characters.

  3. gsutil with zip command

Would like to zip with gsutil so we can create a script to zip many files after using gsutil rsync.

  4. Fix docs for `gcloud config` to mention the fact that `gcloud config config-helper` is a command

When you run `gcloud config`, the resulting help text makes no reference to the `gcloud config config-helper` subcommand. This makes the subcommand undiscoverable and is generally a bad user experience.

  5. gcloud should fill in obvious default values

"gcloud compute instances add-access-config" requires you to specify the address but also the network tier of that address. Why? If you have allocated an External IP to your account it has a fixed network tier. There can't be confusion between a "Standard" 34.1.2.3 IP and a "Premium" 34.1.2.3 IP, the two can't co-exist. But the network tier argument defaults to Premium so if you specify a standard address without saying "--network-tier=standard" the access config creation fails.

Likewise for any command which refers to a specific machine, you have to specify a zone. You cannot create two identically named machines in…

  7. Support non-interactive way to delete an image from GCR

    `yes Y | gcloud container images delete gcr.io/awesome-project/example-image`

Executing this command will result in a return code of 1 instad of 0 even if the command succeeded.
When this is used in CI, the CI pipeline will stop because of this.

Also, can gcloud container images delete support non-interactive(unattended) way to delete an image?

  8. Add ansible modules for google cloud acl service accounts

It would be perfect if Cloud Platform could support ansible / terraform or any other configuration management for creating buckets and unique acl for bucket.

For example in AWS I can do this with ansible:

    1. Create all buckets for different client projects
    2. Setup new IAM users for each client
    3. Create matching groups for each client
    4. Add custom policy for each client group to allow RW access to matching s3 bucket

  9. Support web preview for https server (google cloud shell), not just http.

In google cloud shell, the web preview only proxies to an http server. It would be nice to let it be configured to proxy to an https server as well.
