  1. Change the looks of the decorative blue bar in the tutorial overview, it looks like a scrollbar, always confusing

    Next to the tutorial overview in the top right corner (in any opened tutorial from /docs/tutorials/*) there's a blue decorative bar that looks exactly like the scrollbar for the menu on the right side of the screen, except for the color. I always get confused trying to use the blue bar to scroll the main body of the tutorial. Please make it dotted or stripped line or whatever else that doesn't look so convincingly like the scroll bar.

  2. Debit card should also be accepted as a valid payment method

    You should start accepting debit cards as a payment method in India because students cant use gcp and its features since students cant get a credit card in India.

    We’ve evaluated this before, and are unlikely to make any changes here soon, but I’m leaving it open to allow for other users to be able to vote.

  3. Inconsistent UID Username Mapping When Using SHH Metadata

    Hi, Google Cloud provides SSH metadata to enable ssh login.
    However, when I use project-wide metadata for ssh login, I found that different machines have different username <-> uid/gid mapping.

    For example, in machine 1, user A has uid 1003, user B has uid 1004, while in machine 2, user A's uid is 1004 and user B's uid is 1003.

    This causes trouble when all these machines are connected via a sharerd network file system in large scale computation tasks!

    Waiting for your response!
    Best Regards

  6. recover deleted disks and everything

    it's very simple like for "images"
    https://googlecloudplatform.uservoice.com/forums/302595-compute-engine/suggestions/9966057-recover-deleted-instance

    if I remove or your interface mistaken remove disks because doesn't accept change like now for "keep additional disks" then I lost that data

    I love like with "remove project" that can be "undone"

    it would be great create "trash for everything" and after some time like 1day or 1week will be gone automatically - or I can manually empty it discard that data

  7. Allow Standard Restrictions in Public Key SSH File Metadata

    Please allow us to put standard restrictions in the authorized_keys files of our instances via the metadata SSH Keys editor found here:
    https://console.cloud.google.com/compute/metadata/sshKeys

    Currently your input restrictions do not allow us to submit the keys with restrictions, but it would be nice to be able to have standard restrictions inserted if desired such as these:
    from="1.2.3.4/16" ssh-rsa ..
    from="1.2.3.4",no-agent-forwarding,no-port-forwarding,no-X11-forwarding ssh-rsa ..
    command="/usr/local/bin/my-prog" ssh-rsa ..

    Please consider this. Thank you.

  10. "no resource" extremely poor experience.

    Why would people to bother with compute if it randomly fails.

    How would anyone use this in a professional context.

    Improve user experience/make this viable.

  11. Make it simple to login for a first time user. I have given up

    Haven't got time to take a weeks course to find out how to log in to one of your VMs
    Much to complicated to get started on this.

  12. Increase the grace period for Preemptible VMs

    When using preemptible instances on GKE, 30 second grace period is simply not enough for the workloads to shut down gracefully and often causes service disruptions so I'd love to see this period raised to at least 2 minutes which is a standard on AWS. I believe that would give the machine enough time to gracefully shut down.

  13. Provide alert for upcoming deprecation of VM images

    We've had numerous production outages caused by deprecations of VM images in Compute Engine. Is there any way to get alerted about upcoming deprecations?

  14. Add internal IP support to gcloud compute config-ssh

    It would be great if it was possible to set configuration so that gcloud compute ssh uses --internal-ip by default (which would also mean a CLI option to disable it, i.e. force to use external, is needed).

    Likewise with gcloud compute config-ssh, this one currently doesn't support --internal-ip at all. Supporting it would make using tools like Ansible much easier.

    Many thanks!

  16. Make images available for Debian Buster

    Debian Buster has been officially released but there's no images available for Compute Engine, nor any GCE-specific release notes or documentation on upgrading existing Stretch images. Fix both of those!

  18. Be able to move GKE clusters across Zones

    Currently I'm running into this:

    Try a different location, or try again later: Google Compute Engine does not have enough resources available to fulfill request: us-west1-a.

    While it's simple to just relocate to us-west2-b, or c, It's not possible to move the master node of my GKE cluster into us-west1-b (thus rendering me unable to upgrade it). I could, as a workaround, add additional zones to my cluster to spin up new nodes but that would 2x or even 3x my costs.

    Given that alternatives to GKE, such as kops, support this out of the box it's a little disappointing…

  20. restore disk from snapshot

    doesn't make sense - I want "restore disk snaphost" to "disk" and that show me "create snapshot"

    it's complete inlogical make new disk from "vm / Additional disks / new disk / snapshot" - if so then "attach disk from exist snapshot" - also it not UX userfriendly do that in that not clear long form

    please add button to "restore disk"
