  2. New GCP region in South America, Chile.

    New GCP region in South America - Chile.

    5 reasons why Google should check Chile. (Just check N5, will be enough)

    1) Is the largest country in world, which pretty much goes through almost all South America. Chile stretches over 4,300 km (2,670 mi) from north to south which it is possible to encompass all the South America region (Pacific Ocean).

    2) The economy of Chile is a high-income economy as ranked by the World Bank,[19] and is considered as South America's most stable and prosperous nation.

    3) Chile has a lot of potential for block-chain development. As the government…

  4. Persistent Disk SLA documentation

    It will be helpful to have a documentation of SLAs for Persistent Disk as Compute Engine SLA doc only refers to the VM instance and Load Balancer. Since PD is zonal and regional, SLA will be different.

  5. What is a record locator for American Airlines Flights?

    Did you identify your record locator for your flight? Do you want to know more specific about the record locator used in American Airlines flight? If yes, then stay tuned to this article to find such information at ease.

    A record locator is an alphanumeric code, typically 6 characters in length which are used in American airline reservation systems to access a specific record. The moment when a travel agent, passenger or airline employee points to a record locator which they mean towards a pointer to a particular reservation which is known as a Passenger Name Record or PNR. Almost…

  6. "Set enable-oslogin in project-wide metadata so that it applies to all of the instances in your project: Go to the Metadata page.

    "Set enable-oslogin in project-wide metadata so that it applies to all of the instances in your project:

    Go to the Metadata page.

    Go to the Metadata page
    Click Edit.
    Add a metadata entry where the key is enable-oslogin and the value is TRUE. Alternatively, set the value to FALSE to disable the feature.
    Click Save to apply the changes.

    "

    There is no edit button. The only button is to add metadata, which takes a key value pair. there is no option to turn on os-logon here

  8. deployment manager debug output

    When deploying templates via deployment manager, it would be helpful to be able to set a debug flag, which would provide more verbose details about what steps the deployment manager is going through to accomplish the creation of all relevant resources.

  9. Committed Use Discounts : vCPU & RAM reserved VS currently used

    On the Committed Use Discounts page, it can be very useful to have to have the difference between the reserved vCPU + RAM and the actual amount of vCPU + RAM currently used.

  11. gcloud commands auto copy to clipboard

    So in most parts of the gcp console when it click show gcloud command it auto selects the whole line and copies it to your clipboard. For example the GKE creation screen.

    Now logging into a GCE vm via gcloud ssh, it does not do it here, you have to manually select the whole line and copy the text.

    This is inconstant ux design and should be fixed, thats all.

    I request that GCP adds the same behaviour to ssh logins.

  12. Managed instance groups to re-use boot disks

    Apologies is this functionality exists, but can't see any options to allow it.

    To reduce the boot time of autoscaled MIG's would be great if the boot disks from previous instances which have been set to not auto delete would be re-used. This would avoid the 1 minute odd provisioning time on a windows host hopefully.

    Basically bring back online previous hosts in the mig, hosts in the MIG could also be numerically numbered from 1 > 1000 .

  14. Change the looks of the decorative blue bar in the tutorial overview, it looks like a scrollbar, always confusing

    Next to the tutorial overview in the top right corner (in any opened tutorial from /docs/tutorials/*) there's a blue decorative bar that looks exactly like the scrollbar for the menu on the right side of the screen, except for the color. I always get confused trying to use the blue bar to scroll the main body of the tutorial. Please make it dotted or stripped line or whatever else that doesn't look so convincingly like the scroll bar.

  16. Inconsistent UID Username Mapping When Using SHH Metadata

    Hi, Google Cloud provides SSH metadata to enable ssh login.
    However, when I use project-wide metadata for ssh login, I found that different machines have different username <-> uid/gid mapping.

    For example, in machine 1, user A has uid 1003, user B has uid 1004, while in machine 2, user A's uid is 1004 and user B's uid is 1003.

    This causes trouble when all these machines are connected via a sharerd network file system in large scale computation tasks!

    Waiting for your response!
    Best Regards

  18. Allow Standard Restrictions in Public Key SSH File Metadata

    Please allow us to put standard restrictions in the authorized_keys files of our instances via the metadata SSH Keys editor found here:
    https://console.cloud.google.com/compute/metadata/sshKeys

    Currently your input restrictions do not allow us to submit the keys with restrictions, but it would be nice to be able to have standard restrictions inserted if desired such as these:
    from="1.2.3.4/16" ssh-rsa ..
    from="1.2.3.4",no-agent-forwarding,no-port-forwarding,no-X11-forwarding ssh-rsa ..
    command="/usr/local/bin/my-prog" ssh-rsa ..

    Please consider this. Thank you.
