I had bought a GCP VM in London, while when I try to watch BBC TV, it always says my region don't have the right to watch the TV. Is google server inside the UK? how can I fix this problem?1 vote
It would be amazing if Google officially gave a way, through an app or something with which Android users can operate the Cloud instances1 vote
Please see Scott’s comment below that may address your request, or else please edit your feature request to provide further details on what you want to do to interact with instances from Android, or post details via “comment.” Thanks!
I already use google cloud, but use Citrix XenServer on premise. Running the Unitrends Citrix backup VM on google cloud would allow us to replicate our data to google storage and make GCE usable as a Distaster Recovery location. Otherwise, i will have to move to a cloud provider that supports XenServer in the cloud.1 vote
Please add a filter (grep or regex style) on top of Serial port 1 (console) output page1 vote
Thanks, that’s an interesting suggestion. I’m assuming you mean that you want an interactive filter in the developer’s console web view. We’ll investigate that. In the meanwhile, you might be able to get the kind of support you’re looking for by connecting to the serial console via gcloud, as outlined in the following docs page.
Google VPN service connections sometimes has become unstable, after delete and recreate vpn it turns normal. We need a ARP Refresh feature.1 vote
Thanks, we’ll forward this info to the networking team for their review.
global forwarding rules is not explained clearly.
- Why is it needed?
- What is the significance to gcloud architecture and how to use it?
- Apart from the glcoud command line and rest api, is there an alternate via gcloud console?
- What are the valid (enumerated & syntactically accepted) options for the command line parameters?
- some examples (scenarios and their command line instances) for partially technically inclined will help
Thanks for your feedback! I have directed your comments to our docs team.
It should be simple to determine when an instance state changed and for what reason. This should be an attribute of an instance object, versus setting up a sink for compute events and then searching for a matching event for a given instance.1 vote
Thanks, we’ll consider this. In the meantime, please feel free to provide more details (via comments) on the use cases you’re designing for so we can understand scenarios where this would be valuable.
Identity and API access whitelisting should include Cloud DLP API, but it isn't there. The only way to use it is to enable all apis.1 vote
Sorry, but I don’t understand what you’re requesting… could you please elaborate this request?
Access server instance using TTy/minix from web interface or gcloud cli or other way, different from ssh.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I would like to have information about the location of a region included in the compute#region kind.
I would like to be able to use the region/list api (https://cloud.google.com/compute/docs/reference/rest/v1/regions/list ) to query for regions that are located in a specific country.
But since the location information is not available this is not possible.
Only alternative at this moment is to create this api myself and maintain the information manually based on the https://cloud.google.com/compute/docs/regions-zones/ page that includes the location in the "Available regions & zones" table.1 vote
Thanks, we’ll consider this.

It's minor but make me confuse a bit when get start to use.

Thank you, I have filed an internal ticket to report this issue.
Thanks, this is good idea always, though very non-specific. We’d certainly love to make improvements that you see, so if there are specific things you notice that you feel are complex or duplicative, please do post more detailed suggestions here, either as comments on this entry or as new idea/issues and we’ll be sure to take your feedback to heart.
In the Compute Engine "Create an Instance" page, allow the user to specify a dockerhub build as the boot disk.1 vote
I have concluded that snapshots are automatically compressed, and this is clearly a great feature!
The only thing is that I can't find any mention of this in any documentation, or anywhere after googling quite extensively.
It would make sense to mention it briefly here: https://cloud.google.com/compute/docs/disks/create-snapshots
That could avoid future uncertainty about whether the snapshot functionality is working as it should or not.1 vote
Thanks for your feedback! We can confirm that snapshots are in fact stored compressed. I have submitted an update to the documentation to note this fact.
Our organization (Magine TV) started using GCP for stress testing purposes. We would like to run something like 50 to 100 instances of servers, which would bombard our backend. Because of the quotas, GCP doesn't seem to fit this use case. Your platform should tell clearly what the quotas are, and why they are set as they are, and maybe even point to right direction if it is possible to increase them.1 vote
Changing the date and time display format to be ISO8601 compliant or at least have a formatting field option.1 vote
Thanks for your suggestion. Could you please edit your item or post a comment to add more details on where you’re looking for this time format change? I’m guessing you mean somewhere in the Console, but not sure what you’re most interested in. Thx!
Auto applying GCP sizing recommendations for Compute instances based on a label or metadata value. For ex: we can either use a label or metadata value like "auto-apply-recommendations" and set the value to True or False and based on this, Google should auto-apply the sizing recommendation.1 vote
