make it as easy as EC2 :)1,358 votes
Hi folks, we know there is a ton of interest in this ability, and our engineering team is working on enabling it. We don’t have specific schedule updates right now, but I wanted to post an update acknowledging that we definitely agree this is an important ability and we will launch the functionality just as soon as we can!
Cannot make changes after saving the Instance Template118 votes
This is something we are planning to improve, hopefully later in the year.
Allow changing network after VM is created. Currently I have to snapshot then create new VM from snapshot to change network. +1 for allowing multiple network cards.99 votes
This item is on our radar for future work, but no date is currently available (there are a number of items in front of it).
Note: Multiple NICs has been available for a while in production (unfortunately this feature request post is quite old and refers to a time when it wasn’t available yet).
Currently labels can be set on instances, but not on instance templates via gcloud beta commands. In order to use labels in BigQuery billing export this would be tremendously useful.24 votes
Thanks for the feedback, this is definitely planned to be available. I don’t have an exact timeframe currently, but we wouldn’t GA the feature without this. Note, it’s possible to add labels to a template through the API itself through instanceTemplates.insert(), but of course that’s not very easy to use if you’re working with gcloud.
I just started.
I can see a graph of my VM instances' utilization.
Could you add an option for me to see my current total due?
Cost management is important for me.

Thanks for the question. We are continually making improvements to our capabilities, including billing insights.
it's such a hustle attaching a GPU using that command interface, spent over 8 hours on it today, only yo reach the end and the interface said not available in the trial, please help us get them in the browser and offer them on the free trial.11 votes
Thanks, these options will be available at a future date, these are just currently not available in the beta program.
Currently there is no easy way to set username and password for Windows machine instances in the Console. Creation wizard only allows to set SSH keys for linux instances.
Password could not be easily set even programmatically https://github.com/GoogleCloudPlatform/compute-image-windows/issues/10310 votes
The cross-posted issue on our agent github project is updated to note that this is planned for a future release.

We expect to allow finer grained controls in the future.
If a machine shutdowns, the serial console log is lost. This makes debugging harder for such cases where the machine shutdowns during boot or otherwise6 votes
This will be available via Stackdriver in the near future. We’ll reach out to you to invite you to the alpha test when it’s ready. :)

Thanks for the feedback – we’re designing some improvements to this part of the UI. I don’t know when it will be implemented, but it’s something we’ll be working on.
